Sedona, Arizona

I guess I lost motivation for blogging lately. I won’t stop, it just won’t be that often anymore. Here comes an update…

We came home from the states last night after an awesome trip in NY, NJ and Phoenix, Arizona. We spent the first two days at Scott’s grandparents house in New York, as his dads house was still without power after hurricane Sandy. Sandy left massive destructions over there. We wanted to go take a look at the beach in Belmar, but the police were everywhere making sure only the people that lived there were allowed in. This because the coastline have all these massive beautiful mansions that people were stealing things from. We saw the police and the military everywhere, lots of trees down, streets loaded with furnitures and stuff from the 1st floor of houses that was ruined because of flooding. One of them one block away from Scott’s dads house. His truck flooded and was totaled.

We really are lucky to live in Norway. It’s not that fun. But we do survive the rain. That’s all there is, right?

And then was the presidential election. That was exciting to be apart of. All the political discussions on the mall and everywhere we went… Why can’t just everyone do like Norway? : )

Oh well. So we found out that Obama won the election the second people turned their phones on when we landed in Phoenix.

Phoenix was hot! We had around 30 degrees celsius the first couple of days! Was awesome, so good to walk around with a dress in November. I wish I could’ve packed the warm wind in a suitcase and let it out right outside the front door, so it would be the first thing I felt every morning…

Scott was in Phoenix for PressNomics. I was there for pleasure. And shopping. And tanning. And swimming. And shopping. And reading. And Scott. And the after parties. 300 computer “geeks” gathered in one place. An experience.

We also took a day to drive up to Grand Canyon. Now, that was a breathtaking sight! It didn’t even look like planet earth.

And we saw “Flight”. If you don’t like flying already, you don’t wanna watch that movie. But it was good, and I could hear I wasn’t the only one sniffling walking out of the theater.

I read “Mornings in Jenin”. I have a total different view of the Israel-Palestine conflict now. I learned a lot. It was good!

Oh and we flew with all the celebs! First Jace Everett on the way to NJ, then Jordan Sparks home from Phoenix. Had to say.

So now we’re home again. Going back to NJ for christmas. In two years I’ve been to America eight times now. NY, NJ, Boston, Philadelphia, San Fransisco, Phoenix, Hawaii, Aruba… I love it there a lot, but as we say in Norway – Borte bra, men hjemme best!

Here’s a photo from Sedona which was about a two hour long drive north of Phoenix.

Home again after what’s been the most exciting trip over the Atlantic ocean so far this year. It was a busy vacation and we actually only slept home for three out of nine nights in six different places. Another fairytale trip is over and it’s time to get prepared for the real life. Work life. I’m excited to see the kids at work again and hopefully we brought some of the nice weather we’ve had back from the states. Aruba shots and memories:

If you ever get the chance to go to Aruba, please don’t hesitate! It’s really everything I expected it to be and more. Just loving life right now and enjoying every second with my loving hubs. This is kind of a second honeymoon.

Sunsets, Marriot, happy hour, snorkeling, hot, white sand, beach hair, sun burnt, bon bini, reggae music, coconut, kisses, Starbucks, happy people, pina coladas, late nights, sleeping in, paradise!

San Francisco

On our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon, Scott and I stopped in San Francisco for a couple nights. Beautiful city! We rented a bike and saw the Golden Gate Bridge, took the famous cable cars up and down the hills in the city, ate on top of the Chinese Factory and did a little shopping. Here’s a little video that my loving husband put together. It’s basically just me acting silly and weird, but also shows a little bit from our beautiful day there.

New York City

Øyeblikk.net is having another photo contest and has “travel” as their theme this time. I’ve been doing a lot of traveling lately after I met Scott, which I love. We are lucky to have his father as a pilot and mother as a flight attendant on two different airlines that gives us cheap tickets to go almost everywhere. New York is special to me because I have so many good memories from the city after being there a lot with Scott. It’s a week ago today since I flew over the city and gosh what a beautiful sight! Here’s what met me the first time I visited the Big Apple. Scott used to work in the building (Time & Life) to the left. (Click on the photo to make it bigger)

I started my new job this week and I really like it! It’s so good to have something that will keep me busy while Scott’s over there. These photos were taken while diving from Boston to New Jersey. The sky was so pretty!

Valentine’s in NYC

As we only live an hour away from New York City, Scott as taken me there several times now. I will never forget the first time I looked up outside of the Penn Station, the first time I looked down from The Empire State Building. The first time I saw Times Square at night and when I saw the Rockefeller christmas tree. I am, as so many others in love with New York City. So what could be better than to celebrate Valentine’s day in the city you love the most with the man you love the most? The best and cheapest way for us to get into the city is to drive to Secaucus and take the train from there. We ate at the Peking Duck Restaurant in Chinatown which is our favorite. They have the best Chicken Broccoli! After dinner we walked around in the city which is my favorite. It’s so much fun to watch all the people walking around. The business man calling for a taxi while holding three heart shaped balloons saying “I’m crazy for you”. The young girl walking next to her boyfriend with her new stuffed animal. All the men carrying roses. It’s also New York Fashion Week now, so you can imagine how many interesting people walking by… In the city everyone is the same. We’re all busy people going to different places. Waiting for a “white man” to cross the road. But I can’t stop thinking about all the different stories out there. Where is that person going? Who is he giving that Michael Kors handbag to? What kind of relationship does this boy have with the girl (or boy!) that is getting the flowers? But back to my own story… After visiting the worlds biggest Apple store at the Grand Central Station and using the free WiFi at Starbucks, we headed home. I had such a good day and I really enjoyed every second I had with Scott. We only have one more week together before I leave.
